Creating Lessons Using CultureGrams: Kids, States, Provinces and World Editions

 

Learning Objectives
  • Find the instructional supports available in the resource.
  • Find CultureGrams: Kids, States, Provinces, and World editions on the INFOhio website: www.infohio.org
  • Create a lesson plan to integrate CultureGrams: Kids, States, Provinces and World editions into classroom instruction.

 

 

Teaching Activities 

CultureGrams has a collection of 78 teaching activities for educators to use alongside classroom instruction. These are created for Kindergarten through fifth grade students. The teaching activity categories include:

  • Creative Projects: Design or construct an item.
  • Discussions: Discuss questions or issues to be discussed in groups or as a class.
  • Games: Complete the game as a group or individually.
  • Presentations: Prepare a presentation for the class. 
  • Problem Solving: Analyze information. 
  • Research: Read assigned materials and summarize their findings.
  • Writing: Write an essay or creative work.

Consider the discussions and reflection you have engaged in and the materials you have learned about so far. Use the lesson plan template to create a standards-aligned CultureGrams lesson for your students.
