The World Almanac for Kids Lesson Plans
The Teacher Resources tab appears on every page of the World Almanac for Kids. Clicking it will lead you to many options for integrating The World Almanac for Kids into your classroom instruction. Check out the Lesson Plans option. Currently, there are 31 lesson plans available. Also, explore additional instructional materials within the Teacher Resources you may find helpful to use in your next lesson. Graphic organizers are a great way to help students visualize and think about their thinking. Find a graphic organizer that will be help students practice metacognition. Read the article Representing Knowledge Nonlinguistically by Marzano to explore the benefits of using graphic organizers to build metacognition.
Each lesson plans is organized by topic and provides learning objectives, essential questions, vocabulary, a summary, and printable handouts.

Create a Lesson Plan
Based on the content and grade level you most often teach, develop a lesson plan using resources from The World Almanac for Kids. Use The World Almanac for Kids Lesson Plan Template in the Exercise files below to create your lesson. Consider the discussion/reflection questions you have completed and the materials you have learned about so far. Use the lesson plan template to create a standards-aligned lesson for your students using The World Almanac for Kids. Consider sharing the lesson plan you create in INFOhio's Open Space.
Reflecting on Your Learning
Once you've shared your lesson plan to the group Resources, post about what you shared in The World Almanac for Kids and Elementary Open Space group Discussions. Find The World Almanac for Kids and Kids Elementary Lesson Plans post and reply to the thread to share your lesson plan.
