Navigating the Landing Page

CultureGrams: States and Provinces editions include 50 American state and 13 Canadian province reports designed for upper elementary school students. Each report provides engaging, up-to-date cultural information. 

Browse Using the Top Menu

Use the categories in the top menu pictured below to locate information and help students get a deeper look into the world's culture. 

• Flag Gallery: Click to find a specific flag or to print. 
• Recipes: Browse a collection of recipes native to that state or province. 
• Graphs and Tables: See the Build-Your-Own section to create tables and graphs. 

Locate State and Province Reports

Much like the landing pages for Kids and World editions the landing pages for CultureGrams: States and Provinces are easy to navigate. Click the drop-down button to select a state or province. Select from three types of maps: political, physical or outlined blank.

State and Province Report Layout

Every state and province page contains information to support K-12 assignments about a state or province. The state page includes data and cultural information, including history, the people, and fun facts. Find basic facts about a state or province in the Did You Know? section, shown in the center of the screenshot below. 

Other helpful features on the reports page include the state or province's:

• Flag
• Motto
• Map, either country, detailed, outlined
• Quick Facts, such as capital city, population, and area
• Additional Features, such as a distance calculator or the current time of day

State and Province Report Sidebars

The sidebars on the left side of the page offer more information about a state or province's culture. Use the information in the sidebars to support state or province research projects. 

Each CultureGrams: States or Provinces edition report includes a sidebar similar to the one pictured below.
