Learning Objectives
  • Use the navigational tools to search and browse content to find the best title for students and instruction.
  • Find the instructional supports available in the resource.
  • Identify best practices for using BookFlix in the classroom.
  • Consider methods for sharing BookFlix with parents.
  • Create a lesson plan to integrate BookFlix into instruction.
  • Understand the importance of using digital text, print, and other media in early learning curriculum.

BookFlix Lesson Plans

Review these lesson plans that use kindergarten and first grade learning standards and BookFlix titles. As you review, identify best practices or strategies used to integrate the resources into the standard and its desired outcome. These lesson plans also feature a take-home activity for parents to complete with their children. You will notice that the lessons include many Best Practices for Digital Reading.

Create a Lesson Plan

Download the BookFlix Lesson Plan Template from the exercise files at the bottom of this page. Consider the discussion/reflection you have done and the materials you have learned about so far. Use the lesson plan template to create a standards-aligned lesson for your students using BookFlix.

Reflecting on the Learning

Once you have shared your lesson plan to the BookFlix group resources, post a description of it in the BookFlix Open Space group Discussions. Find the BookFlix Lesson Plans post and reply to the thread.
