Independence Day![]() Fireworks, swimming, parades and family cook-outs are all great ways to celebrate the Fourth. But if want to know the real reason for this holiday, go to Annals of American History and select the dates 1755-1783. Now, beside the word Year use the pull-down menu to choose 1776 and click Go. Read the documents from that period of history, including the Declaration of Independence. Then, beside Show Only choose Multimedia and click Go for drawings, photos and -- near the bottom -- video clips recreating the events of this period of America's history. |
