INFOhio's Core Collection provides state-funded resources free to all Ohio's K-12 students and teachers for the 2010-2011 school year.

A username and password are required for home access; see your school library media specialist.

Funded in part through an Institute of Museum and Library Services LSTA grant awarded by the State Library of Ohio.

 
Books and Reading

Reading is vital to success in school and in life. Helping your child cultivate a love of reading is one of the most important ways a parent can assure that success. Commercial links are included as well as other non-INFOhio sites. INFOhio does not guarantee the reliability of links to other sites. Some non-INFOhio sites include advertising and e-commerce.

Cooperative Children's Book Center. Links to Center resources as well as to other materials for those interested in children's and young adult literature. Includes reading lists of award winners and other suggested titles. Produced by the School of Education, University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Awesome Library, Books (Free) on the Web. Title list that links to e-books that require no password.

BookHive, Your Guide to Children's Literature and Books. Hear several storytellers at Zinger Tales. From the Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County (North Carolina)

KidSpace Story Hour. Several stories that are part of the Internet Public Library complied by the University of Michigan School of Information. For beginning readers.

Literature Online from Chadwyck-Healey. Full-text, searchable works available as part of INFOhio's Core Collection of Electronic Resources. Poetry, drama and fiction are included. For grades 9-12.

Storyline Online. Screen Actors Guild members read children's stories aloud, with visuals from the books and background music. Author and performer information, activities and a lesson plan are provided for each book.
